Goodbye 2011!

Where did this year go?  There is always something going on...something to do...somewhere to go.  Life is always moving forward, here are the highlights of 2011 in our household:

Winter:  Faith started going to preschool at La Petite Academy.  By week 2, she was somewhat fully potty trained :)

Spring:  I survived the first year of being a Speech/Language Pathologist!  It seemed like a million hours put into IEPs and therapy, but there are no regrets going into speech.  Mama and Lolo also visited us in Spring where precious memories and time were spent with them.

Summer:  Ooohhh summer, how we love thee.  From Lake Mead, to Lake Las Vegas, to the beaches of Riviera Maya and California, swimming with the dolphins in Puerto Morelos, and a road trip to Chichén Itzá, we are blessed to experience it all.
Riviera Maya

Fall:  We welcome back to school time!  Faith is now going to The Venetian Child Development Center and continues to flourish there.  She loves to write and draw.  We also celebrated Faith's 4th Bumblebee Birthday along with fun harvest activities.  Faith started AWANA and we started attending Southern Hills Baptist Church.

For 2012, we plan to continue enjoying life wiser and healthier following God's Will for us.  Thank you Lord for your faithfulness!
Happy New Year to all!

Father's Day

Got Father's Day cards done already.  I love Stampin' Up's Best Dad Ever stamp set.  There's only one image of 5 ties in a row and the rest are words/sentiments.  It can be for Father's Day or a Happy Birthday.  For a black and white theme, I used Day and Night Designer Series Paper (from Clearance!), black/gray/white card stock and the striped grosgrain ribbon.

This shirt card, I read somewhere, was in the SU Idea Book & Catalog from last year.  I couldn't find it but based on other crafter's shirt cards posted online, this is what I came up with.  I used the Pacific Point cardstock, leftover Bashful Blue and Whisper White for the sentiment, vintage brads (retired, so sad!) and more leftover polka dots from the Celebration party hats I used for my daughter's birthday last September.

And finally, a little bit more color for the Best Dad Ever.  I colored the rubber stamp with the SU markers, rolled the Cherry Cobbler card stock in the Big Shot with the polka dots folder.  So shirts and ties for Father's Day... what more can you say?

rock-a-bye baby

check out my Etsy shop:
This weekend's project was for a double baby shower I co-hosted with my coworker.  Two gals from our speech cohort are having a baby.  One is having a boy and the other a girl.  So this giraffe stamp from the Fox & Friends set came in handy.  The 'rock-a-bye baby' sentiment brings me back a couple years ago when my little girl was born.  That's when I bought the Nursery Necessities stamp set, one of my favorite set.

I used So Saffron, Chocolate Chip and Whisper White for a neutral color palette.  Everyone loved how it turned out.  They even love the gummi Mango candy inside these pillow boxes.  Yes, gummi Mango...I think you can get them at the Asian store.  Have a fabulous week!
